Darren Hardy (Chair)

Darren Hardy Member status: Council nominee
Professional status: Darren was a Labour councillor for nine years, has been a spokesperson on the Housing Cabinet and is the Chair of the Scrutiny and Review Committee (Performance and Corporate Services). Darren currently works to secure European funding as part of Liverpool’s regeneration programme.

Ensuring that One Vision Housing continues to provide high quality homes and services that meet our customers expectations both now and in the future.

 

David Brown

David Brown Member status: Independent
Professional status: Dave is a Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and has worked in social housing for over 20 years He is currently a Housing Services Manager with a black and minority ethnic Housing Association operating in Merseyside.

Customers receiving fair and equal access to all our services.

 

 

Betty Kirkham

Betty Kirkham Member status: Tenant (Leaseholders)
Professional status: Betty worked for 18 years in the International Services branch of a major bank conglomerate and is now retired. A Sefton resident all her life, Betty bought her Council property in Litherland after 22 years as a tenant.
Passionate about:

Ensuring leaseholders views and needs are represented and they receive equal and fair access to services. Betty also sits on the Communication Service Review Group to ensure newsletters, leaflets and other materials are of the highest standard.

 

Margaret Hurst

Margaret Hurst Member status: Tenant
Professional status: Margaret has 25 years’ committee experience from her involvement in her local residents’ association and rose to the rank of Inspector during her 14 years of service as a Special Police Officer. Margaret ensures our customers have ample opportunities to get involved and sets a good example by participating in the Resident Involvement Service Review Group.
Passionate about:

Working with resident involvement and other services to ensure customers have a real say about the way OVH delivers its services.

 

Fiona Portlock

 Fiona Portlock Member status: Independent
Professional status:  Fiona works as a Financial Management Accountant within North Wales Police and has an impressive track record in both the private and public sectors. With vast experience in community and youth issues and as a member of a number of Boards within the Force she recognises that planning, preparation and scrutiny are a critical part of being an involved member.
Passionate about:

 Fiona is passionate about striving for excellence, something she applies to her personal life as she is about to complete a Masters in Business Administration.

 

Alison Shavazi

Alison Shavazi Member status: Tenant
Professional status: Alison has a BTEC National Diploma in childcare and is the manager of a children’s day nursery in Sefton. Alison has also travelled widely using her cultural knowledge to improve services.
Passionate about:

Ensuring performance levels are kept to a high standard and any policies are implemented effectively.

 

 

Andrew Mitchell

Andrew Mitchell Member status: Tenant
Professional status: Prior to retiring Andy was a Chief Inspector for the R.S.P.C.A which involved annual budget-setting and management. Andy has been a tenant since 2004 and was instrumental in setting up the Kings Park Resident Association as well as serving on other tenant groups in the area such as the Repairs Focus Group and the Business Planning Group.
Passionate about:

Andy is strong advocate for people with disabilities and work tirelessly to ensure their needs are met. Andy also works with Aintree Hospital’s Patient Advice and Liaison Services.

 

Roy Connell

Roy Connell Member status: Council nominee
Professional status: Roy has been a Councillor for a ward in Maghull since 1996 and is currently Vice-Chair of Audit and Governance Committee and Spokesperson for the Planning Committee. Officially retired after working at the University of Liverpool as a Laboratory Manager, Roy was responsible for large budgets and supervision of staff.
Passionate about:

Promoting the work of One Vision Housing and acting as an ambassador for the organisation. 

 

Lelir Yeung

Lelir Young Member status: Independent
Professional status: Lelir is Head of Equality & Diversity Leeds City Council and Corporate member of the Chartered Institute of Housing. Lelir worked in the field of housing management, social inclusion equality & diversity since 1987. Her roles and responsibilities have been wide ranging at both an operational and strategic level and with excellent knowledge, skills and experience in a range of areas including policy development, project management, strategic service development, staff and budget management.
Passionate about:

Lelir uses the skills and experience of social housing, strategic policy development, promoting equality, the needs of marginalised and disadvantaged communities and knowledge of the Sefton area to support One Vision Housing achieve its vision and mission.

Joan Ashurst

Joan Ashurst Member status: Tenant
Professional status: Having worked for many years in a managerial position for the Inland Revenue, Joan is using her retirement to good use as a tenant member of the board. Having a wealth of experience in policy, performance management and target setting Joan uses these skills to ensure OVH has robust policies and procedures. 
Passionate about: Ensuring tenants needs are addressed whilst providing excellent value for money.
