Tenant Conference 2009
One Vision Housing residents from across Sefton came together in July 2009 for the housing association’s first Tenant Conference and Community Awards.
Held at Aintree Racecourse, the all day event was attended by over 200 residents from across the borough to discuss a range of housing issues and learn about new and improved services from One Vision Housing.
Launched under the theme of ‘Building Communities and Futures’ the event saw tenants, board members and staff discuss a wide range of issues including Decent Homes progress, sheltered scheme upgrades, the Digital TV switchover, environmental works and much more.
Echoing the themes of the day two guest speakers, Graeme Foster from the Tenant Services Authority and Ruth Austen-Vincent from Sefton Equalities Partnership, talked about resident involvement and hate crime respectively. Guests also enjoyed two performances from theatre group Anvil productions and a song and dance performance from Southport YMCA dance troop.
The highlight of the jam packed day was undoubtedly the first OVH Community Awards, which saw seven people recognised for their outstanding commitment to their communities over the past year.
