Aids and Adaptations
If you or a member of your family has a disability or a long term medical condition, or have difficulty doing everyday tasks such as climbing stairs or having a bath, we may be able to help with independent living by adapting your home.
What are ‘Aids and Adaptations?’
Sometimes properties require special structural alterations or special equipment to help improve the quality of life for disabled or frail residents.
In these cases we can make structural alterations or supply equipment that is fixed in place.
This covers anything from handrails to level access showers, stair lifts and special bathroom fittings.
These are divided into what are called ‘minor’ adaptations (which One Vision Housing can complete directly) and ‘major’ adaptations (which require the recommendation of an Occupational Therapist).
For more information on aids and adaptations, download the leaflet below or call us on 0300 365 1111.
Partnership working with Sefton Council
We have established a protocol with Sefton Council that will enable us to have a strategic and integrated approach to adaptations.
This will ensure all our tenants and leaseholders have fair and equal opportunities to adaptations that is tailored to meet their needs in a timely and responsive way.
You can find out more about this protocol in our related documents.
