Kings Park
A new vision for Kings Park
The area around Kings Park is set to change with the investment of over £20 million by One Vision Housing over the next few years. This is money that is going to be spent improving homes, communities and futures for the people of Seaforth.
It is an exciting time for both residents and OVH as we set out to achieve our vision of providing high quality, affordable homes in thriving communities where people have a sense of pride and place.
We plan to completely modernise the three high rise blocks and remodel the open spaces to provide quality homes with lots of secure and accessible recreational areas for everyone to enjoy in safety.

‘Home Zone’ areas
Kings Park will also incorporate Home Zones – areas that attempt to strike a balance between traffic and everybody else who uses the street, be it pedestrians, cyclists or residents.
Home Zones work through the physical alteration of streets and roads in an area. These alterations force motorists to drive with greater care and at lower speeds.
Some of the numerous benefits ‘Home Zones’ also include are:
- Attractive, clearly defined streets
- Landscaping including trees, informal play and other features to enliven the street
- Easily identified crossing zones
- Good street lighting
- Allocated parking areas
- Breakout seating areas
- Minimum kerb heights or eliminating kerbs where feasible
- Using shared spaces between buildings
- Reducing traffic speeds to 10mph
- Creating rights of way for pedestrians or cyclists
- Increased social activity
- Increased levels of safety
- More attractive, diverse streets
- Create areas for activity and children to play
- Better communication between pedestrians and drivers
