Our Neighbourhoods
Here at OVH we have a commitment to creating sustainable neighbourhoods - thriving, well run, active, inclusive and most importantly safe places to live. Places that people are proud of and where anti-social behaviour and disrespect for people and the local environment is no longer tolerated.
But we also recognise that each neighbourhood has its own identity, strengths and weaknesses. We work closely with residents and community groups to ensure the services we provide are tailored to meet the needs of those particular neighbourhoods.
You can find out more about how our services are delivered to suit our diverse communities throughout this section.
Neighbourhood Action Plans
We are currently in the process of finalising our Neighbourhood Asset Management Strategy for 2010 – 2015. Part of our proposed strategy is the creation of 18 OVH Neighbourhoods to allow us to develop local neighbourhood action plans to focus on the issues and investment needs of each particular community.
Each neighbourhood is different and will need different work to make it successful. Since November 2009 we have been working with the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) and Tribal Consultants in order to determine the neighbourhood approach that will best serve those communities.Several well attended tenant consultation events were carried out at the end of 2009 with all three Neighbourhood Managers on hand to discuss and record tenants local issues at first hand.
From April 2010 we will be sharing our Neighbourhood Asset Management Plans with customers and stakeholders. These will be based upon a 'local offer' which outlines our promises to our tenants generally. The 'local deal' will be the part of the plan tailored to meet local needs.
This section of the website will be expanded over the next few months to provide more information about our neighbourhood plans.
