Need help giving up the smokes?
Why should I quit?
Stopping smoking will save you money and improve your health. It will also protect those around you from exposure to secondhand smoke.
- Smoking is the single greatest cause of preventable illness and premature death in the UK , killing over 120,000 people in every year
- An estimated £1.7 billion is spent by the NHS each year to treat the illness and diseases caused by smoking
If you stop smoking you will start to breathe easier, you will have more energy and over time your risk of lung cancer or heart attack will be greatly reduced. About half of all persistent smokers die because of their habit, a quarter of them between the ages of 35 and 69. If the health benefits aren't enough on their own, people who have already given up will tell you that the other big improvement is in your bank balance.
