Soup-er birthday
A resident from one of our sheltered housing schemes recently celebrated his 99th birthday with a buffet provided by Connaught.
Sidney Mumford from Kenyons Lodge was also presented with a specially baked birthday cake and set of china dishes. And his wife Gladys wasn’t left out either – she was given chocolates and flowers.
Every Friday, OVH and Connaught have been putting on homemade soup and rolls for the residents.
These have evolved from the regular coffee mornings that were initially put on. As a result of the residents vacating their flats for longer periods, they didn't always make meals for themselves and so the idea of the soup and sandwich mornings were born.
Thank you to all who have been involved and happy birthday Sidney!
