Show me the money!
One Vision Housing residents turned into budget holders for the day at a special event that focussed on ways of providing value for money services.
The current economic climate has concentrated the organisation even more on efficiency as we strive to not only improve services but also save money to reinvest in targeted areas of the business.
Those who attended the event were asked to think about different areas of the business and where they would like to see more money spent. They were also asked to offer ideas of ways that they could make efficiency savings in order to finance the areas in which they did want to spend money.
It wasn’t made easy for them though…
They were required to present their case to One Vision Housing’s very own banker and their motives also came under scrutiny from the Chancellor of the Exchequer who looked suspiciously like Customer Service Advisor Carmel Wood from the South office.
There were some fantastic ideas put forward, some of which will feed directly into our annual value for money framework.
One Vision Housing resident Gary Evans said: “The event really got people thinking about things in a different way. There were some brilliant suggestions; after all, it’s us tenants that are closest to the service. Sometimes a simple idea can save the organisation hundreds of thousands of pounds and that’s money that can be spent improvements to homes.”
