Residents go surfing
FT4E1530

Residents at Mill Spring Court in Bootle now know their modem from their mouse thanks to a course in computer skills.

Get Digital is a national project that helps older people to gain digital skills and use the internet. The £2.8m Government funded scheme directs cash and training into sheltered housing schemes.

The folks at Mill Spring have certainly benefitted. Aside from setting up Facebook pages and checking the latest sports news, some of them are even using Skype as a means to talking to relatives from across the world.

They'll be giving the youngsters a run for their money in no time.
