Having a hoot at Boofest!
Over 6000 men, women, children (and birds) descended on a sundrenched North Park in Bootle for BooFest – a free, family friendly festival organised by One Vision Housing.
With live PA from Juice FM, BooFest 2011 featured live music, climbing walls, free swimming and a fun fair.
With the temperature pushing a creditable 20 degrees, people could be forgiven for thinking they were abroad as children played on a makeshift beach and ate ice creams astride donkeys while parents relaxed in deck chairs.
One Vision Housing resident Betty Kirkham said: “It’s marvellous that the whole community has come together and young and old are mixing with each other. It’s been a great day – the sun’s even out!”
As well as the host of fun things going on, there were staff from One Vision Housing and other partners providing advice and support about people’s homes and neighbourhoods.
One Vision Housing Chief Executive Roy Williams said: “The response we’ve had from people today has been absolutely fantastic. People have enjoyed all the activities around the park and our staff have all taken away thoughts and ideas which we’ll use to improve our services further. Thank you to all involved.”
