Success for our young flyers
We have won two awards at an awards ceremony that recognises outstanding young people working within our communities.
The Young Flyer awards acknowledge hard work, dedication to personal development and commitment to the organisation itself.
The Young Apprentice of the Year Award went to Steven Allen –a plumber with One Vision Housing Property Services (OVHPS). Steven was one of the first employees taken on by OVHPS when they formed in September 2010. Since then, Steven has formed good relationships with other members of the team and received numerous thank you letters from customers.
Steven is always willing to volunteer and has recently provided support and guidance to five new apprentices at One Vision. He also attends career events at local schools to give advice to GCSE and A Level students considering a career in construction.
Other winners at the event – held at Manchester City Football Club – were Matt Smith who won an award for Young Enterprise of the Year for his social enterprise, Fresh Team. Igor Puskarskis was also highly commended for Young Volunteer of the Year.
The Young Flyers Awards are staged on behalf of the Airport Group – an informal alliance of 14 North West-based stock transfer housing associations that are committed to work in collaboration on issues of common interest.
