Anyone wishing to make use of this service should follow the straightforward registration process which can be conducted entirely online. You will need a Debit Card for this process. (We do not accept payment by Credit Card)
Please remember, when registering, to have your rent payment card to hand as you will be required to enter your unique 13 digit rent account number which is shown in the bottom right hand corner of your card.
Security is guaranteed
Alliance and Leicester uses advanced levels of data encryption technology to ensure that your sensitive banking details are transmitted in a secure and confidential way.
In addition, when registering you will be asked to enter a brief security question and answer that should be easily remembered and known only to yourself.
You will then need to enter this information if you forget your password.
The minimum payment you can make is £1. How does it work?
The BillPay service validates your payment on-line at the same time as you make the payment. An acknowledgement is displayed when your payment is processed. You can take a copy of that acknowledgement for your own records.
If your card issuer does not authorise payment a message tells you authorisation has been declined. If you cannot correct any error you will need to arrange payment by an alternative method.
Debit card issuers check for fraudulent payments. Therefore if you try to make a payment that does not match your usual pattern of card use your card issuer may not authorise the payment.
We recommend that if you intend to pay a significantly larger amount than you would normally pay by Debit Card, you should:
- Advise your card issuer in advance
- Tell them you intend paying over the internet
- Ask them to confirm they will authorise an internet payment.
After you register you will be able to see if your payment transaction has completed successfully. You can also view a history of all your BillPay payments.
In exceptional circumstances you may be timed out or experience communications problems during a transaction. If this occurs you may receive an error message giving advice what to do next.
