Residents Reminded to be Vigilant

Residents in Sefton are being reminded to be vigilant of bogus callers posing as workmen while improvement works to One Vision Housing properties are ongoing in the area.

Connaught Partnerships Ltd is issuing handy double-sided stickers to all properties in Aintree, The Old Roan, Sefton Moss Villas, Monfa and the Marian Way who are to receive home improvements from Connaught as part of the four year partnership with One Vision Housing to improve social housing in the areas.

The stickers are intended to be placed on either a window or a glass door panel to advise callers that they will be asked for ID upon the door being answered, while from the inside reminding the resident to ask for the appropriate identification before permitting access to the property.

Teresa McShane, Connaught Customer Liaison advisor, said: "While home improvement works are ongoing we would remind all tenants
to be as vigilant as possible regarding who they allow into their property.

"We are issuing the stickers to all tenants who will be receiving improvement works as a reminder to always ask for identification. Connaught staff carry their photographic ID at all times and will be more than happy to show this to the tenant before being allowed access to their home."

Andrew Spencer, One Vision Housing Director of Investment and Regeneration said: "The safety and wellbeing of our customers is our primary concern and we are pleased to offer this facility to help reassure our residents - many of whom are vulnerable - that we will do everything in our power to ensure that they feel safe in their homes.

"We instruct all our personnel, and those of our partners and contractors, to wear identification badges at all times and our message is clear. If any individual does not have an ID Badge - do not allow them access to your home. If you are in doubt please ring us on 0845 140 1234 and we will be happy to verify identity.
