One Vision Housing and Connaught are celebrating after completing improvements to the 500th property undergoing Decent Homes works in Sefton.
To mark the occasion, One Vision Housing and Connaught presented the resident of the 500th completed property with a large celebratory cake to be shared amongst other tenants on the improvement scheme. Mrs Josephine Simmons from Litherland has recently received a brand new kitchen as part of the four year programme to improve One Vision Housing properties in Sefton.
Mrs Simmons said: "I'm absolutely delighted with my new kitchen and would definitely recommend to other tenants to have theirs done too.
"I was a little apprehensive before the works commenced but I was kept informed of the schedule and was given the chance to pick the colours of the units and worktops in advance. When the team came in they were really careful to keep everything clean and it was no inconvenience at all. I would definitely give the whole process 10 out of 10."
One Vision Housing Director of Regeneration and Investment Andrew Spencer said: "Last Year, the One Vision Housing partnership committed itself to not only improve the standard of people's homes but also to the wider regeneration of Sefton. We are proud to be making local improvements using local workers.
"In just under a year the partnership has developed the ability to act quickly and has hit the ground running."
Maureen Morrison, Connaught Senior Tenant Liaison Officer said: "Everyone in our Sefton Team is thrilled to have completed the improvement works to 500 properties and we are looking forward to completing many more over the coming years."
The improvements to One Vision Housing properties are part of the Government's Decent Homes Standard that aims to ensure that 95% of all social housing in the UK should be warm, weatherproof and have reasonably modern facilities by 2010.
