800 Easter Egg donation for Alder Hey

Every child at Alder Hey has received an Easter Egg this year thanks to the Sefton Decent Homes Partnership.

The partnership including One Vision Housing, Connaught, Kier and Integral donated 800 Easter Eggs and even drafted in the Easter Bunny to help ensure every child received either an egg or a small cuddly toy at Easter.

The partnership, which is delivering wide-scale refurbishments across Sefton as part of the One Vision Decent Homes works, which will see over 11,000 properties brought up to the Government's Decent Homes Standard, including new uPVC windows and doors, kitchens and bathrooms.

Taking a break from the works, representatives from all the partners came along to help distribute the eggs at Alder Hey hospital in Liverpool, one of the largest and busiest children's hospitals in Europe, caring for children from across Merseyside and futher afield.

One Vision Housing Resident Involvement Manager Anne Owens said: "Everyone at the partnership is extremely pleased to be able to provide this small gesture to such a worthy cause as Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

"We all feel that it is extremely important that every child received a gift and that just because they are in hospital over the Easter period that they do not  feel that they are missing out.

"One Vision Housing would like to thank all its staff and all its partners, Connaught, Kier and Integral for their generosity and support for the campaign."

Chris Done of Alder Hey Imagine Appeal said: "We are delighted that One Vision Housing chose to think about our young patients at this time. It's difficult for any child to be in hospital, but at times like Easter and Christmas it's even harder for them to be separated from their friends and family. We rely heavily on the generosity of organisations such as Sefton Decent Homes Partnership to ensure these children are not forgotten."
