Volunteers from One Vision Housing, Evolve, and Myerscough College have given Kings Park in Seaforth a makeover thanks to a special campaign organised by 107.6 Juice FM and global sportswear brand Adidas.
As part of the campaign for ‘Adidas originals grün,’ the brand’s new and natural line of clothing that been designed with the environment in mind, 107.6 Juice FM and adidas are transforming five sites around the city throughout May.
Kings Park was chosen as one of the winning sites after OVH Housing Officer Shaun Williams nominated the area for the competition.
Over 30 volunteers took part in the revamp, which saw flower beds replanted, rubbish and graffiti removed and the play area repainted and given a fresh new look.
Jo Heuston, 107.6 Juice FM Sponsorship and Promotions Manager, said: “A team from 107.6 Juice FM and adidas grün, with help from Myerscough College, have transformed the area around Kings Park by giving the entire area a much-needed lift.
“As well as tidying the area we have also planted a number of new trees and plants across the site, which not only improves the overall look of the area, but helps the environment by producing oxygen and reducing the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.”
Local Housing Officer Shaun Williams said: “To be part of such a fantastic radio promotion, which is seeing a global sports brand like Adidas getting involved in a project in Sefton is wonderful, however even more importantly we are using this opportunity to help improve the environment for our tenants and that is truly rewarding.”
