Role of the Board
The Board of One Vision Housing is responsible for:
- Setting policy and strategy
- Guarding the mission
- Ensuring the organisation is viable
- Establishing delegations for action
- Managing risk
- Monitoring performance against key objectives and policies
- Ensuring proper conduct.
Board members must:
- Act in the interests of One Vision Housing not their own constituency
- Act in a personal capacity, not as nominees or representatives of any other body
- Not compromise the independence of the organisation
The Board must also be diverse and:
- Reflect the community it serves
- Adopt an equality and diversity policy
- Promote good racial relations
- Work to eliminate discrimination
- Ensure equity in lettings and tenant satisfaction
- Have effective systems for dealing with harassmment
- Ensure effective representation
- Process a range of skills, experience and knowledge
- Give effective leadership and control
- Ensure effective representation

How can I become a member of the Board of One Vision Housing?
All future tenant and leaseholder Board Members will be elected and will serve no more than 3 years without re-election. The Board will consult tenants as to the arrangements for such elections in the future.
