Role of the Board

The Board of One Vision Housing is responsible for:

  • Setting policy and strategy
  • Guarding the mission
  • Ensuring the organisation is viable
  • Establishing delegations for action
  • Managing risk
  • Monitoring performance against key objectives and policies
  • Ensuring proper conduct.

Board members must:

  • Act in the interests of One Vision Housing not their own constituency
  • Act in a personal capacity, not as nominees or representatives of any other body
  • Not compromise the independence of the organisation

The Board must also be diverse and:

  • Reflect the community it serves
  • Adopt an equality and diversity policy
  • Promote good racial relations
  • Work to eliminate discrimination
  • Ensure equity in lettings and tenant satisfaction
  • Have effective systems for dealing with harassmment
  • Ensure effective representation
  • Process a range of skills, experience and knowledge
  • Give effective leadership and control

How can I become a member of the Board of One Vision Housing?

All future tenant and leaseholder Board Members will be elected and will serve no more than 3 years without re-election. The Board will consult tenants as to the arrangements for such elections in the future.
