What is rent?
Rent is the charge made to you by One Vision Housing to live in one of their properties. All One Vision rents are based on a formula given to us by the Government. This takes into account property valuation, local earnings and the size of the property. In some cases your rent may include a service charge on your property. Your tenancy agreement will provide more information about this.
Improvements to Payment Methods
At One Vision Housing we have carried out an extensive review of our rent and cash collection facilities over the past year.
As a result we have introduced a number of new arrangements which will provide our customers with more choice and increased flexibility.
How to pay
- If you have a Debit Card you can pay your rent on line at any time by following the links to the Secure BILLPAY service (in partnership with Alliance and Leicester BillPay) - On Line Payments
- The Post Office with cash or debit card
- Direct Debit: If you have a Bank Account you can set up a Direct Debit. Please call 0845 140 1234 for more details.
- Telephone Payments: If you have a Debit or Credit Card you can pay your rent from the comfort of your home, by calling our Customer Service Team on 0845 140 1234.

The new measures above will result in some degree of change in our current payment arrangements. As a result after 31st March, 2008 you will no longer be able to use the facilities previously provided by Sefton MBC, including the One Stop Shops, the Council's telephone and online payment systems to make payments to One Vision Housing.

How often do I pay my Rent?
Your rent is due weekly, on a Monday, in advance. Rent is paid over 48 weeks of the year. There are 2 payment free periods; 2 weeks at Christmas and 2 weeks at the end of March. Providing your account is up to date you will not need to make payments during these periods.
Help paying rent
If you receive a low income you may be entitled to Housing Benefit to help meet the cost of your rent. You are responsible for making the Housing Benefit application and ensuring that all necessary information is provided in support of the claim.
Having problems paying rent?
If you are having difficulty paying your rent you should contact your local neighbourhood office immediately to discuss your problem.
If you allow rent arrears to build up, you could face legal action. This may include County Court judgements, Possession Orders or even eviction from your home.
One Vision Housing welcomes the opportunity to discuss payment problems with tenants in the hope that it will prevent the build up of rent arrears. Our philosophy is that prevention is better than eviction.
Help may also be available from Housing Benefits. If you require advice from our Welfare Rights Team please contact 0845 140 1234.
- Further advice and assistance can also be obtained from the Financial Services Authority and from the National Debt Line.
