Corporate Plan

Welcome to One Vision Housing's corporate plan for the period 2009 - 2014.

This plan sets out our corporate priorities of growth, sustainability and improvement. It also tells you how we are going to manage the business over the next few years.

Year of the Customer

You'll find that the common theme that runs through this plan is the delivery of services which places our customers at the centre of our business - excellent services that are accessible to all, based on fairness, equality and value for money.

This year is our 'Year of the Customer' - the year that we focus our energies and resources into services that customers really want. We’ll achieve this through increased tenant participation, higher levels of customer scrutiny, intelligent customer feedback and most importantly, acting upon what they tell us matters most to them.

Building communities and futures

Our recent Annual report 2008 / 2009 gave a small taster of some of the highlights from the previous year. However the next five years will bring ambitious projects to Sefton such as £35 million investment into the Marsh Lane area through Greenfields Place and the spectacular £20 million transformation of Kings Park. Another £35 million will be spent on environmental improvements to the area.

We're sowing the seeds of better neighbourhoods by developing grassroot ventures, such as Junior Warden schemes, grow your own vegetable plots and pioneering art projects as we understand that supporting small projects can have as much impact on nurturing the future of our communities as the larger investment projects

Growth beyond decency

The Corporate Plan to date has focussed on establishing OVH as a new housing association and all the considerations and provisions central to this. However this revised plan is aimed at a longer 5 year vision for the organisation – beyond “decent homes”. We don’t want our customers to have decent homes, we want them to have better homes – better than other providers are offering at great value.

Over the coming five years we intent to build on our achievements to date, developing the brand and firmly establishing our credentials within the sector.

We seek to extend our role as a key partner in the sector contributing to regeneration and sustainability in equal measures.

We will strengthen our expertise and use our financial capacity to explore business opportunities and new markets if it benefits our customers.

We will encourage our staff to be creative and innovative when looking at ways to deliver real and tangible social and economic improvements to the communities we serve. We aim to tackle social issues such as worklessness, health, citizenship and community empowerment through our newly formed Community Development Team.
